In the midst of all of this transition, this little thing has adjusted surprisingly well.  She just loves “baby Eliabeth” and, if anything, she might just show her a bit too much attention.  That said, though, Mary Grace has apparently become nocturnal (though that presumes she sleeps during the day… which is rare).  As I snuggled with her smiley little sleep-deprived self in the middle of the night last night, she whispered, “Mommy. Are you thinkin’ what I’m thinkin’?…. I’m thinkin’ that I just can’t sleep and that you look weeally sleepy.”  Ha.

Sleep issues and all, how in the world could I be upset with this petite little bundle of energetic cuteness?  As an incentive to get her to sleep one night this week, Matt promised Mary Grace a “soccer tournament” the following morning.  Yes, the girl has informed me that she doesn’t care to do dance or gymnastics… she just wants to play soccer.  Sigh.  Check her out in these pics though… princess nightgown, snow boots, bed head, my old gymnastics medal, and Carson’s hand-me-down soccer trophy… priceless.  Needless to say,  pink soccer socks rather than pink ballet slippers will be filling her stocking this year, and she’ll be thrilled.  IMG_0497IMG_0499IMG_0500

  1. Yipee! We are soooo happy that MG wants to play soccer. Uncle Will can also teach her the fine art of getting yellow carded, almost to the point of red….
Send us the game schedule. I’m marking my calendar.
