What an exciting week for adoptions around here! As one family from our church received their referral for a sweet baby boy from Ethiopia and our friends from home traveled to South Korea to pick up their beautiful little girl, that nagging ache in my heart became stronger and stronger to meet Wyatt.

Well, good news continues to flow from the Rwandan adoption community. We have seen approvals continue, and this week we finally saw several families get their referrals! This means they will be traveling soon to pick up their children. The fatherless and motherless. In families forever! I can’t handle it, I’m so excited!

I am so encouraged to see the ministry in Rwanda working so hard to find families for their children. It seems as though orphan care is truly a top priority to them. However, I am quick to be reminded that they are not the heroes here. God is the hero. My hope should not lie in their ability to quickly process dossiers. My hope lies in Christ.

Wyatt, I have never met you but I miss you already! Come home!!

“A father to the fatherless,
a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling.

God sets the lonely in families”
-Psalm 68:5-6-
