What not to say to an adoptive mama who has been waiting well over two years to bring her child home from the other side of the world:
“Wow! You could travel as soon as 4-6 months after your referral? That is waaay quicker than a pregnancy!”

TOTALLY get this. People would tell me “that seemed fast!” when we would talk about travel news after getting our referral 5 months before. I always, always said “well you haven’t been here for the whole 2 years.”
